Constructing Cable Support and Pathways

Cable support and pathways are constructed before cable is installed. Communications cable must be supported by its own structure every five feet when running horizontally or vertically in bundles. Often times core drilling and fire-stopping around cables are required when running between floors or through fire rated walls. A building’s structure, customer’s budget, building codes and quantity of cables determine the type of cable support and pathway needed.

TurnKey Communications constructs a wide variety of cable support apparatuses, from Cat 5 rated fasteners to heavy-duty cable tray systems. Alternate support is required when cable cannot be pulled through drop ceiling or fished in walls. Conduit or surface raceway can be used to support, conceal and protect cables..
